Ten Tales of Malmesbury

Friends of Athelstan Museum have published another book on Malmesbury history but this time it is for 5 – 8 year olds. It is called Ten Tales of Malmesbury. And deals with ten episodes in Malmesbury’s past form the Hill Fort to the Tamworth Two via Eilmer, Walter Powell and others. It has been brilliantly illustrated with full page cartoons, one for each tale, by Phil Horswell.

The booklet will only cost £2.50 and give a easy child-friendly introduction to the history of Malmesbury; it will make the ideal stocking filler.

The booklet will be launched on Friday to coincide with Late Night Shopping; copies will be on sale at the museum. There is always a good crowd to drink our mulled wine so we hope they buy the book as well.

Phil Horswell is a professional illustrator. He now lives on Dartmoor but before that was in Malmesbury for some years. He is very fond of the town and that is why he wanted to be involved with the project. For more details see his website www.philhorswell.com
